PASADENA, Md. (AP) - A woman whose body was found in the woods behind a shopping center has been identified, and Anne Arundel County police say she was a homicide victim.
Police identified the woman on Friday as 20-year-old Jessica Lynn Lee of Brooklyn Park. She had been missing since May. Her body was identified through DNA comparison.
Her body was found earlier this month after a man told police he was walking in the woods when he saw what appeared to be a human skull. A search team recovered additional remains.
Lee's mother, Ann Burke, says she doesn't know who would have wanted to harm her daughter. Burke is now caring for Lee's 16-month-old daughter.
