WASHINGTON - An all-out search for a man who escaped from Anne Arundel County District Court is over.
Annapolis Police tell WTOP that 24-year-old Bonrick Lee Barksdale escaped Anne Arundel County Police custody just after noon Thursday.
Shortly before midnight, police apprehended Barksdale, who is wanted in Greensboro, N.C. on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon. Police say Barksdale was apprehended near the intersection of Dewey and Sumner Drives in the Admiral Heights community.
Annapolis Police say he was caught after a resident saw him and called 911.
Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Lt. Francis Tewey says Barksdale escaped from custody around 12:10 p.m. Thursday. He was initially arrested last week in Glen Burnie on a warrant from North Carolina, alleging charges of kidnapping, first-degree sex offense, attempted first-degree rape and robbery.
According to the News Record, Bonrick also was arrested in Maryland on Aug. 28 in connection with a shooting that occurred Aug. 24 on Adams Farm Parkway in Greensboro.
Multiple police agencies assisted Annapolis police in the search, along with search dogs and a helicopter.
