CROWNSVILLE, Md. - If you need a music festival warm-up before this year's Virgin Mobile Festival, the Anne Arundel County Fairgounds is giving your ears the chance to limber up.
The Silopanna Festival, dubbed "Annapolis' Biggest Music Party," will showcase 20 different acts across three stages on August 27.
Two of the top acts at Silopanna are Virgin Mobile Festival veterans. Dance-punk duo Matt & Kim and jazz-funk group Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, who played Virgin Fest in 2010, are part of a number of acts that feature something for everyone.
The festival showcases a number of hometown acts, including Annapolis rock band Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Baltimore soul rockers All Mighty Senators and solo rock-folk artist Tobias Russell.
The festival will be headlined by longtime soul act Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings.
Along with the music, the festival will feature more than 30 different vendors and craftsmen, along with a free yoga session for concert-goers in the morning.
Tickets are $39.50 on the festival's website, with VIP Packages also available. Parking will be free for all who attend.
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
