Md. man dies after jumping off pier

ORCHARD BEACH, Md. (AP) - Anne Arundel County fire officials say a man drowned after jumping off a pier at Orchard Beach.
Authorities say 46-year-old Charles Thompson of Brooklyn Park jumped off the end of a pier Tuesday around 9 p.m. and did not resurface.
His body was located about an hour later. It was taken to the Office of the State Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy.
