ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Natural Resources Police say they are investigating a fatal boating accident near Dobbins Island in Anne Arundel County.
Police say they were called to the Magothy River about 4:30 p .m. Monday for a report of a man who was missing after being thrown from a boat. Authorities say the man, 25-year-old Robert Kane of Pasadena, Md, and a friend were thrown from a 17-foot Carolina Skiff after a sharp turn.
Kane's friend was picked up by another boat.
Natural resources police, the county fire department, underwater divers, Maryland State Police aviation units and the Coast Guard searched the area until sunset Monday. Authorities will resume searching for Kane on Tuesday.
