CROFTON, Md. - Anne Arundel County Police detectives are investigating the stabbings of four family members during a dispute Wednesday morning.

The mother is in serious, but stable condition, police tell WTOP.

Police say it appears the two daughters, ages 13 and 20, will survive. One is in serious condition. The other is stable.

Police say they were called to a home on Forest Hill Court early this morning.

Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahey says the call to police came in at 6:37 a.m. The daughter who called for help said she, her sister and her mother had "sustained lacerations to the upper body" at the hands of her father, Mulcahey said.

Police found him in a nearby wooded area off Chelmsford Drive.

Mulcahey says the 49-year-old man had lacerations over several parts of his body. It's not clear whether the wounds are self-inflicted or defensive.
