Office party? Go easy on being the life of the party

WASHINGTON - Is your office throwing a holiday party? You may want to think twice about being the life of the party.
Marie McIntyre, author of Secrets to Winning at Office Politics, says alcohol tends to lead to much of the bad behavior.
Your mouth can get you into trouble, too. She says avoid complaining about the party or your company, even if the food or music stinks. That will get you tagged as the "unappreciative employee."
And, don't make comments how much more likeable someone is at the party than at work. It may seem funny at the time, but it won't seem that way when you're back in the office.
