On September 21st, your morning run can make a difference in the lives of over 1 million Americans. Race in the 4th Annual National Capital 5K Run/WALK to support Hydrocephalus funded research and promote awareness. Hydrocephalus is a neurological condition in which an excess of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain causes debilitating symptoms. The treatment options often send the person affected back to the operating room for multiple surgeries because the treatment is not regarded as a cure. Even though hydrocephalus affects over 1 million Americans, research is severely underfunded and the treatment options leave those affected with uncertain futures.
The 5K Run/Walk will be held at East Potomac Park/Hains Point in the District. The Race starts at 8:00am and will have Chrono track timing. Even though there is a $25 dollar registration fee, there will be a 2014 Race Shirt given to all registered participants.
