The 2007 Yamhill Valley Vineyard Pinot Noir from Oregon ($15) is a slightly lighter-styled, yet delicious wine that is full of fresh, ripe red cherry and strawberry flavors. The 2008 Te Kairanga Pinot Noir from Martinborough, New Zealand ($20) has a mineral-rich nose with hints of strawberry and boysenberry and flavors of red berry fruit. A classic example of French pinot noir is the 2005 Champy Bourgogne Pinot Noir, from Burgundy, France ($25) It has flavors of fresh red berries and ripe red plum. The 2008 Martin Ray Winery Pinot Noir Reserve from the Russian River Valley ($30) has flavors of dark strawberry, ripe raspberry and black cherry with hints of baking spices and cocoa on the long finish.
