1 Dead in Columbia Shopping Center Shooting

COLUMBIA, Md. - Police are searching for a man involved in a deadly shooting at a shopping center in Columbia.

Howard County Police say a man was shot at the Wilde Lake Village Center in the 10400 block of Twin Rivers Road around 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday.

A Howard County Police officer at a nearby gas station heard the gunshots and saw a person running for help. The officer ran to the area and found the injured man.

Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Bryan Antoine Adams, Jr. of Columbia. Adams died at Howard County General Hospital.

Earlier, nine Howard County Public Schools were under lockdown. The lockdown was lifted shortly before 2 p.m.

Police are looking for a man who was seen running from the shopping center.

The man is described as a black man in his late teens with a medium build, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He was wearing sneakers and dark clothing.

Anyone who sees someone matching this description or has any additional information about this incident is urged to call 911.
