CASCADE -- A Hyattsville man was killed Sunday in a motorcycle crash near Fort Ritchie, Maryland State police report.

Jason L. Farley, 29, was traveling north at high speed on Md. 481 about 11 a.m., police said, when he struck a guardrail at a sharp curve on Ritchie Road and was ejected from his 2005 Yamaha R6.

Farley, who was traveling with about nine other motorcyclists, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Trooper First Class Ward and Trooper First Class Brown, a reconstructionist, both of the Hagerstown barrack, are investigating the crash. Driver error and speed appear to be factors.

The scene was clear and the road had reopened by about 12:45 p.m., police said.
