FREDERICK, Md. - Frederick police have arrested a man after shots were fired during a melee outside a downtown sports bar.
Police say 23-year-old Derrick Nash fired the shots that struck a vehicle early Sunday morning outside the Bentz Street Sports Bar. He's been charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and multiple handgun offenses.
Police responded to the bar around 2 a.m. Sunday for a report of shots fired. Police also say that someone was robbed in the rear of the business, and several fights broke out among people leaving the bar. Police believe the shots were fired as Nash was leaving the scene in a vehicle with three other people. An officer located the vehicle nearby and the four occupants were detained.
