RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A Memorial Day ceremony at Fort Harrison National Cemetery will honor the nation's war dead, especially soldiers and sailors who died in the Civil War.

The wreath-laying service is sponsored by Richmond National Battlefield Park in cooperation with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Civil War historian and author John Quarstein will speak at the Monday noon event. More than 800 Civil War soldiers are buried at the cemetery on the Fort Harrison battlefield about eight miles south of Richmond.
