Airline spreads Christmas cheer, gifts to passengers (Video)

WASHINGTON – Airports during the holiday season bring to mind pushy passengers, overly-crowded terminals and weather-related delays. But one Canadian airline wanted to spread some actual Christmas cheer this year.

WestJet set up a “virtual Santa” in its terminals at the Toronto and Hamilton International Airports. Upon scanning boarding passes, Santa asked passengers what was on their Christmas wish lists.

At the flight’s final destination, the passengers were treated to a surprise at baggage claim.

According to Mashable.com, this is not WestJet’s first foray into spreading some holiday cheer. Last year, the Canadian airline held a Christmas flash mob in the middle of an airport.

Watch the video of the seasonal stunt, set to “A Night Before Christmas.”
