WASHINGTON -- It's become as predictable as the Thanksgiving and Christmas travel rush. Now that the airlines have imposed fees for checked luggage, passengers try to carry more and more on flights.
The result can be boarding delays and worse yet squabbles over bin space.
NBC offers some tips to ease the battle over bags.
Some of the suggestions:
- Look into early boarding options, it might be worth the extra cost.
- An airline-branded credit card can offer priority boarding.
- Consider shipping your luggage or holiday gifts.
- And plan ahead. If there's suddenly no room for the extra bag you're carrying
aboard, have any medications and valuables packed in a carry on that will fit
under your seat.
