WASHINGTON - Believe it or not, Black Friday is only five days away - or four days for those planning to shop at Walmart, which opens for deals at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
According to the National Retail Federation, up to 147 million people plan to shop on the Black Friday weekend, but Washingtonians aren't among the enthused.
"I don't shop on Black Friday," said one Washington area woman. "I find it too hectic with too many people."
"We usually go to the museums and monuments," said another local when asked about his Black Friday plans.
The tech and gadget deals are the main lure for those planning to hit up the sales this year, and some locals are flocking to the stores for discounts on Sprint and Samsung phones.
Others are interested in the shopping, but will wait until after the crowds die down.
"I feel like it's a sport for some people, and that's just not my family's forte," said one area woman.
