Pump prices drop before Thanksgiving week

WASHINGTON – The price of gas keeps falling in the run-up to the Thanksgiving getaway.

WTOP’s Pain in the Gas Survey shows prices of all grades fell by 6 cents a gallon since last week.

Regular fell to $3.51 a gallon, while mid-grade dropped to $3.71. Premium went down to $3.89 a gallon and diesel slid to $4.03.

Despite these drops, last year’s prices were still cheaper. The WTOP Pain in the Gas Survey showed the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.44, 7 cents cheaper.

Mid-grade cost $3.62 a gallon and premium dropped 2 cents to 3.74 last year. Diesel cost $4.01 per gallon.
