Chinese man stranded in S. Korea after son scribbles in passport

WASHINGTON — A passport photo recently went viral after a Chinese tourist was supposedly stranded in South Korea when his four-year-old son scribbled on his picture.

The man allegedly took to Chinese microblogging site Weibo to decry the situation: “It is so depressing. What am I supposed to do now I cannot go back to China. Solutions? Help???”

But now, some are wondering if the defaced picture is fake. According to The Independent, critics think the scribble looks like an adult’s handwriting on Photoshop and Microsoft Paint.

Among other critiques, observers say the “ink” isn’t smudged anywhere on the passport page.
