Toronto Zoo polar bear cub thriving after rough start (Video)

WASHINGTON – A tiny polar bear cub is giving the National Zoo’s panda cub, Bao Bao, a run in the cuteness department.

The cub, born at the Toronto Zoo on Nov. 9, 2013, had a rough start after he was born. Two of his siblings didn’t make it past the first 48 hours.

A few days after birth, the cub was transferred to the Zoo’s intensive care unit, where he has received continuous care by a team of experts.

Happily, the cub is making progress, the Zoo reports.

His coat is getting thicker and is becoming more active and mobile, the Zoo reports.
