WASHINGTON – The eyes have it.

Or at least they might.

Research company 2AI is working on a pair of glasses that can fix color blindness.

The glasses were originally designed to help doctors find bruises and veins in patients, until the unintended side effect was discovered.

NBC news reported Friday that the Special lenses, called Oxy-Iso, affect a color blindness known as red-green color vision deficiency.

Ophthalmology experts tell NBC that it has long been believed that some form of sun glasses could help cure certain types of color blindness, are not impressed.

But according to Stanford’s Dr. Michael Marmor, quoted by NBC, “it’s not new and it doesn’t work.”

Color blindness affects 1 in 10 men and is less prevalent in women.
