WASHINGTON - A new smartphone app, "Drinking Mirror," shows how excessive drinking can ruin your looks.
After uploading the free iPhone or Android app, the user snaps or uploads a closeup photo, and enters how many drinks a week he or she drinks.
The app computer-generates a composite image of how the person will look in ten years, adding normal aging and the effects of prolonged alcohol use.
To test the app, I entered ten drinks a week, and the results weren't pretty.
The 'after' photo added pounds, jowls, wrinkles and dilated blood vessels.
The current U.S. dietary guidelines are no more than one drink a day for women, two drinks per day for men.
The Drinking Mirror is also available on a desktop.
