Boyfriend’s Facebook rant inspires Bodyform response (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON – Periods aren’t fun, but you wouldn’t necessarily know that from some of the tampon and pad commercials on television these days. Women are often shown smiling and frolicking, oblivious to the cramps and bloating that ruin whole weeks for many.

One man took issue with this misrepresentation in the form of a comedic rant on Bodyform Maxi Pads’ Facebook page, reports Mashable.

“As a man, I must ask why you have lied to us for all these years,” Richard Neill wrote. “As a child I watched your advertisements with interest as to how at this wonderful time of the month … the female gets to enjoy so many things” like “bike riding, rollercoasters, dancing, parachuting.”

Neill’s comment went viral, and Bodyform was so impressed with his post that they filmed a video response just for him. It features a fake CEO apologizing for years of deception and promising to take a more “honest” approach to periods.

“We loved Richard’s wicked sense of humour,” the company wrote on its Facebook page. “If Facebook had a ‘love’ button, we’d have clicked it. But it doesn’t. So we’ve made Richard a video instead.”
