WASHINGTON -- A bizarre trend is sweeping across Asia that takes beauty injections to a whole new level.
It's called "bagel head," and it's when people inject saline into their foreheads. They then press their thumbs in the middle of the large saline-filled bump to create what looks like a bagel.
The trend is the subject of an upcoming episode of "National Geographic Taboo," reports The Huffington Post.
The show will chronicle the beauty treatment, which has become part of the Japanese "body modification" art scene, HuffPo reports.
The look is temporary. The bagel-bubble only lasts about 16 hours before the saline is absorbed into the body.
