WASHINGTON – Sledge hammers are so 1900s. Those who want to see a watermelon explode better come with something more creative in the 21st century.
Queue up the rubber bands. Two young men dressed in lab coats (so it must be scientific) caught the fate of one unfortunate gourd using a high-speed camera. Their instrument of destruction: rubber bands.
