ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Bedford County police say a man suspected of crawling through a drive-thru window in an unsuccessful attempt to rob a fast-food restaurant has been arrested in South Carolina.
The Roanoke Times ( http://bit.ly/O8jmzq) reports 22-year-old Elton May Shorts III of Evington was apprehended Thursday at a hotel room in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Bedford County Sheriff's Maj. Ricky Gardner says Short was charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit robbery.
On May 23, a Taco Bell employee in Forest called 911 to report the attempted robbery. The suspect fled in a car after he was told the store's money had already been locked up for the night. The man's face was covered by a T-shirt and sunglasses.
A woman suspected of driving the car was arrested earlier this week.
