Significant progress, but still in restoration mode

RICHMOND, Va. - Dominion Virginia Power says less than 3,000 hurricane-related power outages remain in Virginia.
Most of the outages are in central Virginia.
Dominion expects to restore power to most customers by late Monday night. It says electricity might not be restored in a few circumstances, such as unsafe conditions because a home is flooded or severely damaged.
The utility says it has restored power to more than 1.2 million homes and businesses since Hurricane Irene left its service area about eight days ago.
