WASHINGTON - Slap on your pancake-eating bib. It's National Pancake Day, and the International House of Pancakes is offering a free short stack.
You can get the buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday.
In exchange, you are being asked to donate to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities.
IHOP hopes to raise $2.3 million. If it does, it will have raised more than $7.5 million in six years with its National Pancake Day promotion.
Last year, IHOP served four million free pancakes on National Pancake Day. That day was the largest one-day event in the company's 52-year history.
IHOP also has a contest going where you can win free pancakes for a year. It wants to know about your good deeds in the community.
