TROUTVILLE, Va. (AP) - A travel center on Interstate 81 in Troutville will be closed in August.
Virginia Department of Transportation spokesman Jason Bond tells The Roanoke Times (http://bit.ly/1dfm96g ) that the site will be prepared for interchange improvements.
TravelCenters of America operates the facility. Last fall, VDOT declared the 12-acre site seized for public use in an eminent domain action filed in Botetourt County Circuit Court.
TravelCenters of America spokesman Tom Liutkus tells the newspaper that the company is looking at potential redevelopment options.
Work on the interchange project is expected to begin in spring 2015.
