Some Red Line riders to get refunds after multiple delays

WASHINGTON – NBC 4 is reporting that Metro will issue more than 500 refunds to riders who complained about delays this past week on the Red Line.

About 550 riders filed formal complaints with Metro, according to NBC 4.

Three rush-hour delays along the busy commuter corridor angered riders this week and forced General Manager Richard Sarles to issue an apology. He also pledged to make changes as a result of the maintenance problems that triggered the single-tracking and overcrowding.

More than 300 passengers have already received refunds. Metro was working to refund the remaining passengers who filed complaints, according to NBC 4.
