FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) -- The Virginia Department of Transportation has finished rehabilitating a U.S. 301 bridge that spans the Rappahannock River between Caroline and King George counties.
The Free Lance-Star (http://bit.ly/1bCqY8g ) reports that the $6.4 million project included replacing the James Madison Memorial Bridge's railing and expansion joint. The bridge deck was overlaid with a latex hydraulic concrete.
Work began in March 2012.
The 1,483-foot bridge was built in 1980.
