Metro probes train call system problem reports

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro officials say they're investigating reports of problems with the emergency call system on a Red Line train after a fight broke out.

Passengers report that they tried to use the emergency call system Monday evening to alert the driver about the fight near the Woodley Park station, but they got no response.

Metro officials say they believe there was some communication between passengers on the train and the operator because Metro Police were eventually notified of the incident.

By the time police arrived, the fight was over and no charges were filed.

Metro officials say they are investigating the report of the intercom problem.
