Beltway ramps to I-66 reopen, delays remain

WASHINGTON — Delays remain on both loops of the Capital Beltway at Interstate 66, following a fuel spill that blocked all westbound I-66 access.

Drivers can now access westbound I-66 from both the Inner Loop and the Outer Loop of the Beltway.

Emergency and hazmat crews are on the scene following a vehicle accident after 12 p.m., according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

“There are extensive delays,” says WTOP Traffic’s Bob Marbourg. “We are jammed.”

The Inner Loop delays extend back to Route 236. The Outer Loop is backed up to the American Legion Bridge.
