WASHINGTON - VRE plans to offer full service following repairs made after flooding from Tropical Storm Lee.
The Northern Virginia commuter rail operation didn't run Friday after heavy rain overnight.
VRE doesn't expect any significant delays when it resumes service Monday.
It says CSX has been working since Thursday on several damaged areas on the Fredericksburg line. All tracks are open, but several speed restrictions are in effect until the work settles.
On the Manassas line, VRE says Norfolk Southern has been working to repair its tracks. There's still a short section out of service. So, trains will single-track between Burke Centre, Rolling Road and Backlick Road. That means riders must use a pedestrian crossing to reach the train and should stay on the platform until conductors signal it's safe to cross.
