Howard County teacher arrested for sexual assault of 14-year-old

WASHINGTON — Howard County police arrested a teacher for the sexual
assault of a 14-year-old boy he met on the Internet.

On Tuesday, police arrested 36-year-old Christopher Russell Fox of Orpin Road
in Randallstown, Maryland. He is being charged with multiple counts of sex
offenses and sexual solicitation of a minor.

In July, a 14-year-old told police that he had chatted online with a person he
believed was a 16-year-old boy. When the 14-year-old went to meet the alleged
16-year-old in person, he was surprised that the man, police say they later
determined to be Fox, was an adult.

The teen told police that Fox engaged in various sex acts with him. The
14-year-old called police after the encounter.

Police recently received forensic results that linked Fox to the cast, which
led charges to be filed Tuesday. Fox turned himself in Howard County police
Tuesday night.

Fox was a technology teacher at several Howard County Public Schools over
the last decade. Since 2003, he has been assigned to Atholton High School,
Folly Quarter Middle School and Mount View Middle School.

Also, Fox was a basketball coach at Glenelg High School in 2006-2007.

Since 2013, Fox has been working at a building services facility, Howard
County Public Schools told police. He is on administrative leave and is barred
from entering any schools in the school system pending an investigation.

Police are investigating if Fox had inappropriate contact with any other
victims. It is believed that he may have solicited other boys online using
fake names.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 410-313-STOP.
