Maryland man arrested for growing 170 pounds of pot

WASHINGTON – A Laurel man has been arrested for growing 170 pounds of marijuana in his home.

Howard County police found 341 plants at Manoj Unni’s house in the 9300 block of Cross Timbers Court. Officials estimate the plants yield a street value of $510,000.

In addition to the plants, police also found high-intensity lights, a dehumidifier, air filters, water pumping systems, lighting timers, a CO2 system and a ventilation system.

The 30-year-old has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, possession of equipment to produce marijuana and drug manufacturing.
