His passion for the weather dates back to an early age when he developed a natural curiosity for the inner workings of the atmosphere. It all started with a specific interest in storms and blossomed from there. As the years passed, his passion and curiosity deepened, and in grade school he was always known as the class weatherman.
Adam followed his love of weather to the University of North Dakota where he graduated with a degree in Atmospheric Sciences fulfilling his goal of learning the inner workings of the weather and forecasting. While in college, he landed his first job on television at KVRR-TV in Fargo, ND, and his enthusiasm for the profession grew stronger. He has been at WJLA-TV in Washington, DC since March 2003. Being a snow lover, his favorite winter was that of 2009-2010 where he had his most memorable moments both on and off-air with the record breaking snowstorms.
A native Minnesotan, Adam enjoys sports and is an avid outdoorsman. He can often be found trolling for walleye in northern Minnesota, ice fishing, wading up to his waist in saltwater fishing the flats, or hiking the numerous trails around Washington, DC. Living in Arlington, a favorite activity is taking his young son to the Kettler Capitals Iceplex down the street to watch the Washington Capitals practice. Also a baseball fan, aside from enjoying regular season ball games, he heads to Florida for spring training every March with his family. By the way, the Caskeys recently expanded with the addition of their own "blizzard baby" in November 2010.
