Man wanted in Md. toddler’s death likely crossed state lines

WASHINGTON — Nearly a month after a 3 year old was shot and killed, the man wanted on first-degree murder charges in her death remains on the run.

Now, the FBI is joining the hunt, saying it has reason to believe 25-year-old Davon Wallace crossed state lines to avoid capture.

After announcing that there is now a federal arrest warrant out for Wallace, Steve Vogt, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Baltimore Division, described new efforts to get help from the community. The FBI has placed digital “wanted” billboards along interstates in the D.C. area, as well as around Richmond, Virginia and in North Carolina.

Essentially, they’re in “areas where we think Wallace may be hiding, or he has people that may be assisting him,” said Vogt.

The FBI has also added $20,000 to the reward offered for information leading to Wallace’s capture, increasing it to $45,000.

Wallace is wanted in the shooting death of 3-year-old Knijah Bibb in Landover on Aug. 10. Police say Wallace got into an argument and opened fire on a home, killing the child.

A man who police say gave Wallace the gun and helped him get away, 24-year-old Brian Campbell, has been arrested.

Prince George’s County Police Chief Mark Magaw has a stern warning for anyone else involved: “Anyone who harbors or helps Wallace is going to be charged.”
