UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A District Heights man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for a two-vehicle crash that left three people dead.

Thirty-seven- year-old Harry Easter was sentenced Thursday in Prince George's County Circuit Court. He was convicted in May on three counts of motor vehicle manslaughter and one count of driving under the influence causing life-threatening injuries.

Prosecutors say Easter was driving on Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill on June 5, 2011, when he rear-ended another vehicle. Gwendolyn Demby, Cordelia Roberts and Eugene Johnson were killed in the crash. Demby's husband, Tim, was seriously injured.

Evidence showed that Easter's blood alcohol content was .24, three times the legal limit, and he was traveling at 89 mph in a 55 mph zone.
