The 1-year-old boy was taken to the hospital, says Mark Brady, spokesman for the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department.
The father, in his 20s, was taken to the hospital with fractures to both of his legs. The mother, who was not struck, was treated for shock.
The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. in the 5100 block of St. Barnabas Road, just north of Wheeler Road when for some unknown reason the pickup truck left the roadway and hit the family on the sidewalk.
The driver remained on the scene.
