Prince George’s police ID toddler fatally struck by vehicle

WASHINGTON – Prince George’s County police have identified the 1-year-old boy who died after being hit by a pickup truck Thursday afternoon as Sherrik Farmer.

Farmer, of Oxon Hills, was being pushed in a stroller on the sidewalk by his parents when the collision occurred.

WASHINGTON – A toddler died Thursday afternoon after being hit by a pickup truck on St. Barnabas Road in Marlow Heights.

The 1-year-old boy was taken to the hospital, says Mark Brady, spokesman for the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department.

The father, in his 20s, was taken to the hospital with fractures to both of his legs. The mother, who was not struck, was treated for shock.

The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. in the 5100 block of St. Barnabas Road, just north of Wheeler Road when for some unknown reason the pickup truck left the roadway and hit the family on the sidewalk.

The driver remained on the scene.
