Now, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley is positioned to name someone he wants to take former Delegate Alston's seat. But he cannot do that until the Prince George's County Democratic Central Committee rescinds Hall's nomination.
The committee's choice of Hall came under fire when his criminal record as a drug dealer became known.
The General Assembly session starts on Wednesday. It is unclear if the seat will be filled by then.
