LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Godzilla” was a towering hit at the box office, collecting $93.2 million in its opening weekend.

The Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures 3-D reboot, directed by Gareth Edwards, bumped Universal Pictures’ raunchy comedy “Neighbors” from the No. 1 spot in theaters.

“Neighbors,” starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, gained $25 million in its second weekend, bringing its overall domestic haul to $91 million.

In third place was “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” which picked up $17 million and brought its total to $172 million domestically.

Disney’s feel-good sports drama “Million Dollar Arm,” starring Jon Hamm, debuted at No. 4 with $11 million.

Rounding out the weekend debuts was James Gray’s “The Immigrant,” starring Joaquin Phoenix, Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Renner. The somber period drama opened in Los Angeles and New York, earning $45,430 with an average of $15,143 per theater.
