RICHMOND, Va. - Virginia is no stranger to Civil War movies, but a new film that starts shooting in the state this week has an unusual backstory.
Dominion Resources president and CEO Thomas Farrell II co-wrote and produced the film. It's about the Virginia Military Institute cadets' heroic charge at the Battle of New Market.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/16DVLjT ) filming for the movie begins at VMI in Lexington this week. It will include shooting at the state Capitol, a Powhatan farm and a plantation on the James River.
The movie stars David Arquette, Tom Skerritt and Jason Isaacs and is being directed by "Soul Surfer" director Sean McNamara. Its working title is "Field of Lost Shoes."
The movie should be released in the fall or spring.
