Fitz and The Tantrums headline US Open ceremony

NEW YORK (AP) — Fitz and The Tantrums and 3 Winans Brothers will be the headlining acts for the opening ceremony at the U.S. Open tennis tournament.

Fitz and The Tantrums, whose songs include “The Walker,” is scheduled to perform three songs in Arthur Ashe Stadium before the night session at Flushing Meadows on Aug. 25, Day 1 of the year’s last Grand Slam tournament.

The Grammy-winning brothers Bebe, Marvin and Carvin Winans will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Also slated to participate in the ceremony are John McEnroe and Martina Navratilova, who won the 1984 U.S. Open singles titles. They will join U.S. Tennis Association President David Hagerty in remotely triggering the lighting of the Empire State Building.
