NAME: George Beverly (Bev) Shea
AGE: 104. Born Feb. 1, 1909, in Winchester, Ontario. Died Tuesday in Asheville, N.C., after a brief illness.
HOME: Montreat, N.C.
FAMILY: Wife, Karlene; first wife, Erma, died in 1976. Two children from first marriage.
EDUCATION: Attended Houghton College 1928-29, and later received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree.
CAREER: Began as a radio broadcaster, singer at WMCA and WHN in New York and later WMBI in Chicago; he was a soloist on ABC Radio's "Club Time." He joined Billy Graham team as a soloist in 1947 and worked with the ministry for more than 50 years. He has writeen several songs, including "The Wonder of It All," and he recorded more than 70 albums of gospel music. He won a Grammy along with 10 Grammy nominations.
