Southwest flight attendant's safety routine cracks-up passengers

Tuesday - 4/15/2014, 5:22pm  ET

WASHINGTON -- Southwest Airlines is known for being laid back. But a recent flight attendant's comedy routine, while she gave safety instructions, took that attitude to a whole new level.

And, of course, it was all captured on video.

"As you know it's a no smoking, no whining, no complaining flight. It's a ‘please' and ‘thank you' and ‘you are such a good-looking flight attendant' flight," the attendant, Martha "Marty" Cobb said over the intercom to increasingly surprised passengers.

While the jokes were the star attraction of the bit, she still included all the traditional safety information as her coworkers demonstrated in the aisles. Some passengers looked surprised by what they were witnessing, but most cackled hysterically.

In reference to the flotation device for water landings, Cobb told the passengers it was "your very own teeny-weeny yellow Southwest bikini."

At more than 1.6 million YouTube views by early Tuesday afternoon, it's clear Cobb is a hit. And the passengers, headed for Salt Lake City, got an economy flight and a free comedy show.

Another choice line: "And if you're traveling with small children — we're sorry."
