WASHINGTON - Pop star Taylor Swift is causing trouble in a small Rhode Island town where she recently bought a beachside vacation home.
Swift, who paid $18 million in cash for the home in Watch Hill, R.I., is building a large sea wall that is angering her neighbors, reports the Daily Mail.
Apparently, Swift has moved ahead with construction without providing public notice or obtaining permits, the Mail reports.
But according to the Providence Journal, Swift was only required to obtain permits from the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council, which she did after review.
Local residents say the wall being built restricts access to a public beach and popular surf spot. One resident tells Daily Mail that the spot is also a memorial for his friend who drowned in 2004.
