THURSDAY EVENING:
Partly cloudy
Temperatures: 30s
Winds: Northwest 10-20 mph
Winds will begin to ease Thursday evening as temperatures fall through the 30s.
THURSDAY NIGHT:
Mainly clear
Lows: 22-28
Winds: Northwest 10-15mph
Clear and cold weather is expected Thursday night with temperatures falling well below the freezing mark. As we continue to see the snow and ice melt during the daytime, watch for the refreeze at night. Slick and icy sidewalks and parking lots are likely.
FRIDAY:
Mostly sunny
Highs: 40-45
Winds: Northwest 5-10 mph
We’ll round out the week with high temperatures remaining below average. With light winds, it will feel milder than Thursday. Ample sunshine will continue to help aid in the snow and ice melt.
SATURDAY:
Sunny to partly cloudy
Highs: 50s
Winds: Northwest 5-10 mph
It’s a forecast to love on Valentine’s Day. It will be a freezing cold start, but temperatures will climb into the 50s by the afternoon. With relatively light winds and sunshine, expect a lot more snow to melt. If you have dinner plans, temperatures will fall into the 40s.
SUNDAY:
Areas of rain possible. Wintry weather chance far west
Highs: 40s
Winds: East 5-10 mph
First Alert Weather is tracking our next weather maker that will bring areas of rain to the DMV. There is still a very small chance for a light, wintry mix in our far north and western suburbs; however, impacts will likely be minimal with temperatures a bit above freezing. Rain showers in the D.C. metro area are most likely during the afternoon and evening hours. Rainfall totals will range from .25 – .50″.
