Last year: Zach Johnson won the second of his two 2012 titles, beating Troy Matteson with a birdie on the second hole of a playoff. Johnson, from nearby Iowa, hit a 193-yard bunker shot to a foot to set up the winning birdie.
Last week: Sweden's Jonas Blixt won the Greenbrier Classic for his second PGA Tour title, closing with a 3-under 67 for a two-stroke victory.
Notes: The British Open is next week at Muirfield. The tournament winner, if not otherwise exempt, will earn a spot at Muirfield. ... Keegan Bradley, making his first appearance in the tournament, tops the field along with Johnson, three-time winner Steve Stricker and Louis Oosthuizen. Stricker won in 2009, 2010 and 2011. ... Paul Goydos shot a 59 in the first round of the 2010 event. ... Three-time winner D.A. Weibring teamed with Chris Gray to design Deere Run. ... The Sanderson Farms Championship also is next week in Madison, Miss.

Last year: England's Roger Chapman won at Indianwood in Lake Orion, Mich., to join Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Hale Irwin as the only players to win the tournament and Senior PGA in the same season. Chapman finished at 10 under for a two-stroke victory.
Last week: Kenny Perry won the Senior Players Championship on June 30 at Fox Chapel in Pittsburgh for his first major title. He closed with rounds of 63, 63 and 64 to beat Fred Couples and Duffy Waldorf by two strokes.
Notes: The tournament is the fourth of the five Champions Tour majors. Kohki Idoki won the Senior PGA in May at Bellerive in St. Louis, and David Frost took the Regions Tradition last month at Shoal Creek in Alabama. ... Perry and Tom Watson played last week in the PGA Tour's Greenbrier Classic. Watson tied for 38th, and Perry tied for 41st. ... The 2014 event will be played at Oak Tree in Edmond, Okla. ... The Champions Tour is off next week. Play will resume July 25-28 with the Senior British Open at Royal Birkdale.

Last year: Brittany Lang won the inaugural event for her first LPGA Tour title, birdieing the par-5 18th three straight times in a playoff. Chella Choi was eliminated on the first extra hole, Inbee Park dropped out on the second, and Lang beat Hee Kyung Seo on the third.
Last event: Park won the U.S. Women's Open on June 30 at Sebonack in Southampton, N.Y., for her third straight major title and sixth victory of the year. The top-ranked South Korean star finished at 8 under for a four-stroke victory. Babe Zaharias is the only other player to win the first three majors of season, accomplishing the feat in 1950 when there were only three majors.
Notes: Park is trying to become the first player to win in four straight starts since Lorena Ochoa in 2008. ... The tour will return to Canada next month for the Canadian Women's Open at Royal Mayfair in Edmonton, Alberta. ... The Marathon Classic is next week in Sylvania, Ohio.
