Woman stabbed in Montgomery Co. robbery attempt

WASHINGTON — The Montgomery County police are investigating an attempted robbery on Monday night during which the victim was stabbed several times and was fighting for her life.

The police say it happened at about 7:45 p.m. Monday at the Forest Park Apartments, on Piney Branch Road. A woman walking near the apartment was approached by a man with a knife who demanded money. When she said she didn’t have any, the police say, the man said, “Then you are going to die tonight.” He knocked her to the ground and stabbed her several times. Someone saw the attack and called the police; the man ran off.

The woman was taken to a hospital; the police say she was gravely injured, but her condition improved at the hospital. She has been released.

The man is described as Hispanic; 17 to 19 years old; about 120 pounds; of medium height and with a thin build. He was wearing a black and white patterned bandana on the lower part of his face.
